Amy Werden, HBK, MSc (Kin), MSc (PT)

Having spent many years in Northern Ontario earning an Honours Bachelors of Kinesiology (2016) and a Master’s of Science in Kinesiology (2018) at Lakehead University, Amy returned to Southern Ontario to gain a Master’s of Physical Therapy at the University of Western Ontario (2020). In her thesis, Amy researched the effect of concussion injuries and lasting symptoms and how one can help rehabilitate from it. Amy believes concussions deserve more than a cookie cutter solution and need to be customized to each individual and their future goals!

Amy grew up in the world of sports with hockey, rugby, and wrestling as her favourites. She followed her passion for wrestling to Lakehead University, being a member of the varsity team. Amy understands and can appreciate the challenges that an athlete can face when rehabilitating from an injury that is keeping them from their sport. Having additional experience providing rehabilitation care to the varsity wrestling and volleyball teams as a Student Trainer during her time at Lakehead, Amy recognizes that there are many aspects that play a role in an athlete’s life 

Amy thoroughly enjoys working with all individuals across the lifespan whether you are dealing with a strained shoulder, sore low back, rolled ankle, etc. She takes an individualized approach to each patient utilizing manual therapy skills, acupuncture, exercise, and other healing modalities. She has advanced training in acupuncture and manual therapy.

Amy is also a Registered Pelvic Health Physiotherapist for individuals with pelvic floor dysfunction including leakage (urgency or stress incontinence), pelvic organ prolapse, pre-partum and post-partum support, pelvic pain, painful periods, menopause, etc. Amy works with her clients to empower each woman to feel that she is in control of her own health.

With her diverse background and ongoing education, she is eager to work with clients to return them to the lifestyle they love! Amy is currently accepting new private, MVA, and WSIB clients.
