Dr. David Shih

  • Undergraduate University education, followed by a 4 year full-time study in an accredited naturopathic school.
  • The 4 year naturopathic program incorporates basic medical science courses such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology and pharmacology.
  • Also focus on naturopathic principles and therapeutics such as botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, physical medicine, oriental medicine and 1500 hours of supervised clinical experiences.
  • Two sets of licensing board exams are required in all regulated provinces to practice.
  • Extensive ongoing continuing educational courses.

What to expect during a visit with Dr. David?

– The goal for Dr. David is to work with each patient to explore and understand all the factors that may impact their health.
– The initial visit is typically set up for 90 minutes including a personal health history to fully understand the uniqueness of each patient.
– Physical problem orientated exam using standard medical techniques and Oriental/Chinese observation of tongue, pulse to form assessment.
– Analysis of blood, urine, saliva, hair and other functional tests may be utilized; as well as review of conventional medical reports and labs.
